The Canton Niort-Est was 2015 a French constituency in Arrondissement of Niort , in Deux-Sèvres and the region Poitou-Charentes . His representative in the Conseil Régional des Départements for the years 1998 to 2011 was Geneviève Rizzi ( PS ). She was followed by Rodolphe Challet (also PS).

The canton was located in the southeast of the Deux-Sèvres department. In the west it bordered the canton Niort-Ouest , in the north on the canton Niort-Nord and in the east and south on the canton Prahecq .

The canton consisted of the districts Champclairot, Champommier, Goise, Saint-Florent and Souché of the city of Niort .
