Geay is a French municipality with 314 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the arrondissement of Bressuire and the canton of Bressuire (until 2015: canton of Saint-Varent ). The inhabitants are called Geayais or Geayiens .

location

Geay is about 15 kilometers east-northeast of Bressuire . Geay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Luché-Thouarsais in the north, Sainte-Gemme in the northeast, Pierrefitte in the east, Faye-l'Abbesse in the south and Bressuire in the west.

The former national route 138ter (today's D138TER) runs through the municipality .
