The Argenton (in the upper reaches: Argent ) is a river in France that runs in the Deux-Sèvres department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region . It rises near the hamlet of La Loge in the western municipality of Bressuire , initially drains in a north-westerly direction, but then turns to the northeast and flows into the Thouet after 71 kilometers in the municipality of Saint-Martin-de-Sanzay as a left tributary .
