Massais is a commune Déléguée in the French municipality of Plaine-d'Argenson with 645 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Massais is part of the municipality of Val en Vignes . The inhabitants are called Massaisiens .

The municipality of Massais merged with Bouillé-Saint-Paul and Cersay to form the new municipality of Val en Vignes on January 1, 2017 . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Bressuire and the canton of Le Val de Thouaret (until 2015: canton of Argenton-les-Vallées ).

Massais is located on the Argenton River , about 22 kilometers northeast of Bressuire .

The municipality of Massais was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Cersay in the north, Bouillé-Saint-Paul in the north and northeast, Mauzé-Thouarsais in the east and southeast, Argentonnay in the south, Le Breuil-sous-Argenton in the west and southwest, and Ulcot in the west and northwest .
