Cersay is a commune Déléguée in the French municipality of Plaine-d'Argenson with 703 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The inhabitants are called Cersaisiens .

history

At the beginning of 1973, the previously independent commune of Saint-Pierre-à-Champ ( former INSEE code: 79288 ) was incorporated into Cersay. The municipality of Cersay, which has existed in this form since 1973, was then merged with Massais and Bouillé-Saint-Paul to form the new municipality of Val en Vignes on January 1, 2017 . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Bressuire and the canton of Le Val de Thouaret (until 2015 the municipality belonged to the canton of Argenton-les-Vallées ).
