Spartaco Dini
Spartaco Dini (born August 25, 1943 in Greve ; † January 16, 2019 ) was an Italian racing car driver .
Career
Spartaco Dini began his motorsport career in the early 1960s as a driver in Italian monoposto junior formulas. He drove in Formula 3 and Formula 2 and, as De Tomaso's works driver , was also active in the Formula 2 European Championship in the early 1970s .
However, he achieved his greatest successes as a touring and sports car driver . In 1969 he won the overall ranking of Division II of the European Touring Car Championship on a factory Alfa Romeo 1600 GTA . In 1968 , he finished fifth in the overall ranking of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in another factory car from the Milan-based company, a Tipo 33 . In 1966 he made his debut in this endurance race . After almost ten years of absence from international motorsport, he returned at the end of the 1970s and competed four more times at Le Mans. He also regularly competed in sports car races again.
