Bridgehampton 500 km race 1964, 1st race
The Bridgehampton 500km race , also Bridgehampton Double 500 (500km Race for FIA Grand Touring Category, and for the GT Prototype, SCCA Modified and FIA Appendix C Sports Cars to 1600 cc), Bridgehampton , was run in 1964 in two races extended. On September 19, the vehicles in the classes up to 2 liters of displacement were launched. One day later, on September 20, the GT racing cars with a displacement of up to and over 3 liters took off.
The race
Although the Bridgehampton Race Circuit was sufficiently long with a length of 4.603 km, the race was carried out in two runs over two days. It all started with racing vehicles with a maximum displacement of 2 liters. After 110 laps and a driving time of 3: 39: 00,200 hours, Joe Buzzetta and Bill Wuesthoff won in a Porsche 904 GTS .
