Mountain race Sierra-Montagna 1964
The mountain race Sierra-Montagna 1964 , also the Grand Mountain Prize of Switzerland, Sierre-Montagna-Crans , was a mountain race that took place on August 30, 1964. The race was the 14th round of the World Sports Car Championship and the seventh race of the European Hill Climb Championship this year.
The race
The race in Crans-Montana in 1964 was the fourth hill climb that was both a valuation run of the European Hill Climb Championship and the World Sports Car Championship. After the success of Odoardo Govoni in a Maserati Tipo 60 at the Consuma hill climb and Edgar Barth on the Rossfeld and in Freiburg-Schauinsland , the Scuderia Filipinetti won a double in Switzerland . Ludovico Scarfiotti won in a Ferrari 250LM ahead of his teammate Herbert Müller , who contested the race in a Porsche 904/8 .
