The Coppa Bologna 1965 , also the Grand Prix of Imola and I. Gran Premio Shell, Imola Coppa Bologna , took place on April 11, 1965 at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari and was the third round of the sports car world championship of that year.

The race

In 1965, the Coppa Bologna was the first international sports car race to be held on the Imola racetrack. The track, which was built in 1952 based on an idea by Enzo Ferrari and opened in 1953, was called Autodromo Internazionale die Imola at the time of the event. Although the race had an international status, it was almost exclusively Italian. The only non-Italian starter was the Swiss Ottorino Volonterio . The race was dominated by Herbert Demetz , who after three hours of driving time at the finish was two laps ahead of his Abarth team- mate Anzio Zucchi .
