Alpine M65

The sixth 500 km race on the Nürburgring , also VI. Intern. ADAC 500 km race, Nürburgring , took place on September 5, 1965 on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring and was the 18th round of the sports car world championship of that year.

The race

At the 500 km race in 1965, Automobiles Alpine achieved its first overall victory in the sports car world championship. The Belgian brothers Lucien and Mauro Bianchi won the race on an Alpine M65 . Second was Gerhard Mitter , one plant - Abarth 1300 OT drove. Mitter was actually a Porsche works driver and received approval for this race to start for Abarth.
