Philippe Vidal is a former French racing car driver .

Career in motorsport

Philippe Vidal was a works driver for Alpine in the 1960s and, in addition to racing in Formula 3, also competed in the Le Mans 24-hour race .

None of the three Le Mans races were crowned with success. Every time a technical defect in one of the Alpine racing cars stopped the ambitions. In 1964 it was a gearbox failure on the Alpine M63 , in 1965 an engine failure on the Alpine M64 and in 1967 the Alpine A210 had to be shut down due to lack of oil pressure.

After his racing career ended, Vidal was a driving instructor at Elf Renault Racing Driver's School .
