Jürgen Neuhaus (born June 29, 1941 in Wuppertal ) is a former German automobile racing driver and entrepreneur.

Racing career

After training as a banker, Jürgen Neuhaus worked for a few years in his parents' textile finishing plant before he got into motorsport. He gained his first racing experience in 1961 with an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speziale and later with an Iso Rivolta in mountain and airfield races.
In 1966 and 1967 he won a number of races in the German Automobile Circuit Championship (DARM) and airfield races with the Porsche 906 and Porsche 911 . He and Helmut Kelleners achieved his first class win in a long-distance race in 1967 at the 1000 km race at the Nürburgring in the GT2.0 class. In the years that followed, up to 1977, Neuhaus regularly competed in the 1000 km race on the Nürburgring, mostly with Porsche racing cars, and achieved class wins in 1969, 1971 and 1973.

In 1969 he drove with Dieter Fröhlich in a Porsche 911 T and 908/02 for one season in the sports car world championship and won his class at Monza and at the Nürburgring; in Zeltweg he finished fourth. In the same year he came under contract with the Gesipa Racing Team and successfully competed in a few races on a 908/02. A year later he received a Porsche 917 K , which he drove in the sports car world championship and in the newly founded Interseries .
The first race of the Interserie took place on June 28, 1970 at the Norisring , which Neuhaus won with his "Gesipa" 917. In the season he was able to achieve another victory in Thruxton , three 2nd places in Croft , Keimola and Hockenheim and a 6th place at the Südwestpokal Hockenheim . With this he achieved the overall victory of the Interserie in 1970, the greatest success of his racing career.
In 1971 he drove another season with a 917 Spyder for the Uschi Heckersbruch team and achieved 4th place in Zolder, Keimola and Hockenheim and 5th place in the 300-mile race in Hockenheim.

He then switched back to GT motorsport and drove a Porsche 911 in the German Racing Championship (DRM) in 1972 and, after a break in 1976 and 1977, a Porsche 911 Carrera RSR and Porsche 935 . His best DRM result was 10th overall in 1976.

In 1977 Neuhaus ended his racing career. Parallel to his racing career, he ran a disco called Bagpipes in the 1970s , which he sold after 25 years. Today he still works as an instructor for driving courses.
