The 1974 Brands Hatch 1000 km race , also known as the British airways 1000 Kms World Championship Sports Car Race, Brands Hatch , took place on September 29 at the Brands Hatch circuit and was the ninth round of the Sports Car World Championship of that year.

The race

As with the championship races before the two were work - Matra MS 670C completely unchallenged at Brands Hatch in the race. For almost the entire duration of the race, the four drivers lapped the course in pairs. In the end, the Matra team leadership intervened and determined the long-time leaders Jean-Pierre Beltoise and Jean-Pierre Jarier as the winning team. Two seconds behind came the second Matra, driven by Henri Pescarolo and Gérard Larrousse . The Gulf Mirage GR7 of Derek Bell and David Hobbs crossed the finish line in third overall, eleven laps behind .
