Richard Bond
Richard Bond (* in Cardiff ; † August 1, 2011 in London ) was a British automobile racing driver .
Career
Richard Bond began his racing career in 1964. He celebrated his first successes in 1965 with national sports cars in Great Britain. He finished the 1000 km race at Monza in 1966 with partner Brian Redman in ninth place in the overall standings; at the 1000 km race at the Nürburgring he finished twelfth with Mike Spence . Both times he drove a Ford GT40 .
Richard Bond competed five times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 1970s . He made his debut in 1971 when he and his British teammate Paul Vestey drove a Porsche 911 S to twelfth place in the overall standings. He achieved his best result in 1972 when he finished eighth in the overall standings with Derek Bell and Teddy Pilette in a Ferrari 365 GTB / 4 .
