Emil Futter

Emil Futter (* 1877 ; † 1931 ) was an Austrian chief engineer .

Life

He was a senior engineer in the construction of the Linz tram and the builder of some of the steepest adhesive railways in the world. Among other things, he built the Pöstlingbergbahn in 1898 based on an idea by the Linz engineer Josef Urbanski , which, according to the Guinness Book of Records, is considered the steepest adhesion railway in Europe. The Emil lining street in Linz was named after him.
