Le Castellet 1000 km race in 1974
The 1000 km race of Le Castellet , also 1000 km Le Castellet , took place on August 15 at the Paul Ricard Circuit and was the eighth race of the sports car world championship of this year.
The race
The double victory at the Circuit Paul Ricard, the secured factory team of Matra the title of brand-world champion of the World Sportscar Championship for the second time in a row. Jean-Pierre Beltoise and Jean-Pierre Jarier won in the Matra-Simca MS670C ahead of their teammates Henri Pescarolo and Gérard Larrousse . Third in the overall classification of the race were Derek Bell and Jacky Ickx in the Gulf Mirage GR7 .
