Cyril Grandet

Cyril Grandet (born December 19, 1942 ) is a former French racing driver .

Career in motorsport

Cyril Grandet was active in GT and sports car racing in the 1970s and 1980s. He celebrated his first racing victories in 1971 in the French GT championship. With four race wins - three times in Monthlhèry and once in Magny-Cours - he secured the championship at the end of the year. In 1973 he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans , where he finished fifth in the overall standings a year later . Victory in the GTS class over 5-liter displacement also went to Grandet and his team-mate Dominique Bardini .

His biggest international success celebrated Grandet 1979 with the fourth place in the World Sportscar Championship in 1979 scoring six-hour race at Silverstone .
