Jacques Henry (born March 15, 1942 in Lure ; † November 19, 2016 ) was a French rally and circuit racing driver .

Career

Jacques Henry started motorsport in 1963. At first he only competed as an amateur, in the early 1970s he became a professional racing driver. In 1974 and 1975 he won the French rally championship. His greatest international success was his victory in the Tour de France for automobiles in 1976 .

Henry also competed four times in the Le Mans 24-hour race . He made his debut in 1973 and achieved his best placement in 1977 with sixth overall.

His son Patrick also became a rally driver and, like his father almost 20 years earlier, won the French rally championship in 2007.
