The 200 km race in Hockenheim 1970 , also the Southwest Cup, European brand trophy for sports cars and prototypes, International Solitude Race (Race 4 - Interserie), Hockenheim , took place on July 5th at the Hockenheimring and was the second competition run of the Interserie this year.

The race

With the race at the Hockenheimring, the newly introduced Interseries continued just one week after the opening race at the Norisring . In contrast to the first race in this series , which had two races, the event in Hockenheim was held in just one run.

After his victory at the Norisring, Jürgen Neuhaus finished sixth in the Porsche 917K and lost the championship lead to second-placed Gijs van Lennep . Vic Elford won the race in a McLaren M6B.
