Joël Laplacette

Joël Laplacette (* in Le Mans ) is a former French car racing driver and motorsport official.

Racing career

Joël Laplacette entertained a small racing team in the 1970s and went with racing cars of Porsche in 24-hour race at Le Mans at the start. He made his debut in 1975 when he and Claude Pigeon and Alain Leroux were partners in a Porsche 911 Carrera RS and achieved 25th place overall. He achieved the best placement of his four races in Le Mans the following year with 17th place.

In the same year was for the World Sportscar Championship scoring 6-hour race at Dijon total Fifteenth.

Motorsport official and organizer

After the end of his career, Laplacette worked in various motorsport functions. For many years he was the press spokesman for the Automobile Club de l'Ouest for the Le Mans 24-hour race and other sports car events, as well as an official of the French motorsport association . He was also the long-standing president of the Concours d'Élégance de La Baule , a competition for historic vehicles with an extraordinary development history.
