As a track spokesman, he commented on all races of the old and new DTM and ITC as well as the newer Formula 1 races at the Nürburgring and the Hockenheimring until his death from a heart attack .

From 1972 to 1980 he held the post of press spokesman at BMW and in 1976 and 1977 also drove touring car races for the Bavarian automobile company.

In October 1981, Kalli Hufstadt set several speed records for motorcycles at the time on a modified Suzuki GSX 1100 together with other drivers on the high-speed route from Nardo in Italy, including over 1,000 kilometers with an average speed of 233.250 km / h.

Varia

He traditionally opened the morning of race day by playing the song Morning Has Broken on a harmonica. In order to create an honorable memory for him, the course speaker tower of the EuroSpeedway Lausitz was named after him in 2006 .
