Chimboy ( Cyrillic - Uzbek Чимбой; Karakalpak Shımbay ; Russian Чимбай Tschimbaj ) is a county-level city and also capital of a district of the same in Karakalpakstan ( Uzbekistan ). Chimboy is on 64 m height, about 55 km north of the capital karakalpakischen Nukus , in the Amu Darya - Delta and has 39,571 inhabitants (calculation for 2009), the 1991 census showed 27,400 residents.
The elevation of Chimboys to a city took place in 1926. The annual average temperature is 10.4 degrees Celsius.
