The 1988 360 km race from Brno , also Grand Prix ČSSR, Mistrovství Světa Sportovních Prototypů, Automotodrom Brno , took place on July 10th at the Automotodrom Brno and was the sixth round of the sports car world championship of that year.

The race

In the league race in Brno the duel between the place of Sauber Motorsport used C9 and the Jaguar XJR-9 from Tom Walkinshaw its continuation. After four victories in a row, including a triumph in the Le Mans 24-hour race , the Jaguars were also favorites in Czechoslovakia . The training was dominated by the Sauber C9; Jean-Louis Schlesser achieved the fastest lap time with a time of 146,440 minutes and started from pole position . The race on Sunday turned out to be one of the most exciting of the season. The first four placed vehicles crossed the finish line within one lap. The winning team Jochen Mass / Jean-Louis Schlesser had a lead of 20 seconds over the Jaguar of Martin Brundle and John Nielsen .
