Chris Hodgetts (born December 6, 1950 in Tanworth-in-Arden ) is a former British racing driver .

Career

Chris Hodgetts was one of the most successful drivers in the British Touring Car Championship in the 1980s . In 1980 he achieved his first podium finish with third place in the race in Mallory Park . After finishing second in 1981 on a Toyota Celica GT , third in 1983 , this time on a Ford Escort 1600i , and another runner-up in 1985 , he won the championship in 1986 and 1987 in a Toyota Corolla .

In addition to the British touring car races, Hodgetts was active in many other racing series. In 1990 he won the overall classification of the TVR Tuscan Challenge and in 1995 the title in the GT2 class of the British GT Championship on a Marcos LM600 . In the last few years of the sports car world championship , he drove there with racing cars from Spice and Tiga and in 1989 at Le Mans drove a works Mazda 767B together with Dave Kennedy and Pierre Dieudonné in seventh place in the overall standings.
