List of nature reserves in the Ludwigsburg district
In the district of Ludwigsburg there are 20 nature reserves. The Stuttgart Regional Council is responsible for the designation of nature reserves . According to the protected area statistics of the State Institute for the Environment, Measurements and Nature Conservation Baden-Württemberg (LUBW), 646.40 hectares of the district are under nature protection, that is 0.94 percent.

The protection purpose is also the preservation of the riparian forests with alder, ash, willow and moist tall herbaceous vegetation. |

Sachsenheim Rest of the formerly widespread terraced wine-growing landscape with dry stone walls, vineyard stacks and sloping terraces. Spatial interweaving of different biotope types on changing soil conditions with special microclimatic conditions along the dry stone walls and vineyards. On the hilltop and along the edge of the slope, beech-beech forest and rennet-oak-hornbeam forest. The protection purpose is also the preservation of the habitat type »lime grassland« (priority) as well as the Bechstein's bat (Myotis bechsteini) and the great fire butterfly (Lycaena dispar) occurring in the area. |
