The Gerlinger Heide nature reserve lies on the territory of the Baden-Württemberg municipalities of Gerlingen in the Ludwigsburg district and Leonberg in the Böblingen district .

The area was designated as a nature reserve by ordinance of the Stuttgart Regional Council of December 30, 1991 and has a size of 14.9 hectares. It is listed under the protected area number 1.181. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 163232 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

location

The Gerlinger Heide is almost completely enclosed by built-up areas and is located between the Gerlinger residential area Forchenrain and the Leonberg district of Ramtel . The protected area belongs to the natural area 123 - Neckar basin within the natural spatial main unit 12 - Gäuplatten in the Neckar and Tauberland . It is enclosed by landscape protection areas, namely in the southwest of the 462 hectare area No. 1.15.082- Leonberg and on three sides by the LSG landscape parts along the motorway: Gerlinger Heide / Forchenrain , which bears the number 1.18.039 and 62 hectares is great.

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of a scenic, exposed heather area with its flora and fauna that are remarkable for a conurbation.
