The Heulerberg nature reserve (NSG) is located in Vaihingen an der Enz in the Ludwigsburg district of Baden-Württemberg .

The nature reserve with the reserve number 1.101 is located east of the village of Riet on the western slope of the Heulerberg and has a size of 5.6 hectares . The area in the natural area of ​​the Neckar basin was previously used as a quarry and today forms a heathland landscape that must be kept free of pines .

Except for a part in the northwest, the NSG is completely from the conservation area Strudelbachtal surrounded. In addition, the area is completely in the FFH area Strohgäu and Lower Enz Valley .

Protection purpose

The ordinance mentions the preservation of the secondary biotope to safeguard the special features of fauna and flora, the preservation of the diversity of species as a research object and as a near-natural compensation and regeneration area in the cultural landscape as a protective purpose.
