Krebsbachaue is a nature reserve with the number 1.201 and a supplementary landscape protection area designated by ordinance of the Stuttgart Regional Council of March 29, 1994 .

location

The nature and landscape protection area is located in the valley of the Krebsbach in the Obere Gäue natural area . It is located south of the municipality of Ehningen and about 1000 meters east of the municipality of Gärtringen . The landscape protection area No. 1.15.085 borders the NSG in the west.

Protection purpose

According to the regulation, the protection purpose is:

the preservation of the diverse wetland structures and extensively used wet meadows as a habitat for a diverse flora and rare animal species threatened with extinction;
the promotion of the area through regular maintenance of the wetlands and an extensification of the agricultural areas;
the preservation of the landscape of the floodplain.

Flora and fauna

So far, 200 plant species have been identified in the area. The species of globe flower , brown sedge , felt sedge and shield speedwell deserve special mention . The whinchat , pond warbler and lapwing must be mentioned among the rarer breeding bird species . Before the construction of the federal highway 81 in the mid-1970s, the lapwing had a very large breeding area in the area of today's protected area. The marsh insect is a faunistic feature among the grasshoppers .
