Schönbuchrand under the Rohrau heads is a protected landscape area (protected area number 1.15.056) in the Boeblingen district .
Location and description
The protected area was created by ordinance of the District Office Böblingen of October 10, 1974. When this ordinance came into force, the ordinance of the District Office of Böblingen on the protection of parts of the landscape in the district area of December 30, 1959 became invalid. These are Keuper slopes of the Schönbuch forest area exposed to the northwest . The area belongs to the natural area 104- Schönbuch and Glemswald within the natural spatial main unit 10- Swabian Keuper-Lias-Land .
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose is the preservation and safeguarding of the original character of the wooded slopes of the Schönbuchrand as a diverse cultural landscape and the protection against further urban sprawl.
