Schmalbachtal northwest of Tailfingen is a protected landscape area (protected area number 1.15.061) in the Boeblingen district .

Location and description

The protected area was created by a collective ordinance of the District Office Böblingen of October 10, 1974, which included several protected areas. When this ordinance came into force, the ordinance of the Boeblingen District Office of December 30, 1959 on the protection of parts of the landscape in the district became invalid.

The conservation area is located north and northwest of the Gäufelden suburb of Tailfingen . It belongs to the natural area 122- Obere Gäue within the natural main unit 12- Neckar- and Tauber-Gäuplatten and has no connection or overlap with other protected areas.

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of the landscape-defining meadow landscape of the Schmalbachtal. These characteristic parts of the landscape should be secured for recreational use, and the area should also be protected from further urban sprawl.
