August Friedrich Christian Philipp Beste (born April 13, 1868 in Osterwald; † December 15, 1963 in Göttingen ) was a German lawyer and politician.

Life

Beste was born in Osterwald (Hanover province) as the son of the rent master August Beste and his wife Amalie, née Haase. He attended the Johanneum in Lüneburg , where he graduated from high school in 1889, and then studied law in Heidelberg and at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen . In 1890 he became a member of the Corps Suevia . In 1892 he passed the traineeship exam. 1898 the court assessor exam. From 1903 he was a local judge and from 1911 a local judge in Arolsen . On October 23, 1903, he married Olga Hanna Maria Rusche in Bremerhaven. He retired in 1933.

From 1914 to 1918 Beste took part in the First World War as captain of the reserve of the 2nd Hanoverian Field Artillery Regiment No. 26 as well as battery and department leader in various regiments on the western front .

politics

From 1910 to 1919 Beste was a member of the state parliament of the principalities of Waldeck and Pyrmont and was its president from 1914 to 1919. He was elected in the district of Twiste.
