The area Feuerbacher Heide-Dickenberg is with Regulation of 2 September 2002 of the Regional Council Stuttgart been instructed Nature Reserve (NSG number 1251) in the municipality of Rutesheim (district Perouse) in Baden-Württemberg Böblingen in Germany .

Location and purpose of protection

The 17.8 hectare (ha) nature reserve is located west of Perouse in the direction of Heimsheim on the border with the Enzkreis and includes all or part of the Dickenberg, Ob dem Breiten Weg, Feuerbacher Heide and Premier Ordon waters. It belongs to the natural area 122 Obere Gäue of the natural spatial main unit 12 - Gäuplatten in the Neckar and Tauberland . It is part of the FFH area No. 7218-341 Calwer Heckengäu and is completely surrounded by two landscape protection areas: Along the motorway between Stuttgart u. Karlsruhe (Heimsheim, Friolzheim) (No. 2.36.023) and parts of the landscape along the motorway: Heimsheim (No. 1.15.020).

The main protection purpose is the preservation of the typical, particularly diverse hedge-gau landscape with heathland, species-rich meadows and fields, hedges, orchards, stone bars and mixed forests for scientific, ecological, natural and cultural-historical reasons. The area consists of heather structured by hedges, of extensively used meadows and arable land and of loose pine forest. The heathland is preserved through sheep grazing.
