Mary Taylor (born March 7, 1966 in Green , Summit County , Ohio ) is an American politician . She was lieutenant governor of the state of Ohio from 2011 to 2019 .

Career

Mary Taylor studied accounting and tax law at the University of Akron . She then worked as a Certified Public Accountant at various companies between 1990 and 2006 . At the same time, she embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . Between 2003 and 2006 she served in the Ohio House of Representatives ; between 2007 and 2011. They held in place of Betty Montgomery , the Office of the State Auditor ( State Auditor ). In the state parliament she was a member of the tax and budget committees.

In 2010, Taylor was elected lieutenant governor of Ohio alongside John Kasich . She has held this office since 2011. She is Deputy Governor . She is a member of several organizations and associations. In 2014, both the governor and his deputy were re-elected. In spring 2017, she announced that she would run for governorship in the autumn 2018 elections. Governor Kasich, who is still popular, then declared his support for the lieutenant governor.

She has two sons with her husband Don.
