John T. Brown

John Taylor Brown (born March 14, 1876 in Plain City , Ohio , †  January 18, 1951 in Madison County , Ohio) was an American politician . Between 1929 and 1931 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Ohio.

Career

Nothing is known about John Brown's youth and schooling. There is also no information in the sources about his career outside of politics. But he must have worked in the field of agriculture because he was later a member of the Farm Bureau and was inducted posthumously into the Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame in 1968. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . Between 1921 and 1928 he was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives .

In 1928, Brown was elected Lieutenant Governor of Ohio alongside Myers Y. Cooper . He held this office between 1929 and 1931. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . In 1930 Brown was not confirmed in office. In 1940 he was a substitute delegate to the Republican National Convention . He was a member of several organizations and associations, including the veterans' organization Sons of the American Revolution and the Freemasons . He died on January 18, 1951.
