George C. Braden

George Clermont Braden (born August 18, 1868 in Greene , Trumbull County , Ohio , †  January 8, 1942 in Warren , Ohio) was an American politician . Between November 1928 and January 1929 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Ohio.

Career

The sources on George Braden are very poor. Nothing is known about his youth and school education. There is also no information in the sources about his career outside of politics. He was married to Elizabeth "Lizzie" Meridith since September 17, 1887. Politically, he joined the Republican Party .

In November 1928, Lieutenant Governor William G. Pickrel resigned for reasons unknown. Thereupon George Braden was appointed by Governor A. Victor Donahey as his successor. He held this office between November 1928 and January 1929. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . After the end of his short time as Lieutenant Governor, Braden was no longer politically active. He died on January 8, 1942 in Warren, where he was also buried.
