Bruce Johnson

Bruce Edward Johnson (born May 25, 1960 in Columbus , Ohio ) is an American politician . Between 2005 and 2007 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Ohio.

Career

Bruce Johnson first studied economics at Bowling Green State University . After a subsequent law degree at Capital University in Columbus and his admission to the bar in 1985, he began to work in this profession. In the meantime he was also deputy prosecutor in Columbus. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . In 1991 he became the campaign manager of Greg Lashutka , who successfully ran for the office of mayor of Columbus. He then belonged to its staff until 1994. He served in the Ohio Senate from 1994 to 2001 . He then became head of his state's Department of Development . He held this position between 2001 and 2006.

After the resignation of Lieutenant Governor Jennette Bradley , Johnson was appointed by Governor Bob Taft as her successor in the second highest state office in Ohio. He held this position between 2005 and 2007. He was Deputy Governor and Minister of Development. Since 2007 he has been President of the Inter-University Council of Ohio .
