Carl L. Nippert

Carl Louis Nippert (born October 11, 1852 in Frankfurt am Main , † September 5, 1904 in Cincinnati , Ohio ) was a German engineer , judge and lieutenant governor of the US state of Ohio.

Nippert studied engineering in Karlsruhe , where he joined the Teutonia fraternity in 1870 , and in Zurich . After completing his studies in 1874, Nippert became an engineer for the German Water Company in Frankfurt am Main and was involved in the construction of the Black Forest Railway . In 1876 he moved to the United States to the construction of the plant for the World's Fair in Philadelphia to help.

Nippert worked for a long time as a teacher (1877-1889) and headmaster (from 1891) in Cincinnati. During this time he was very committed to German teaching. In 1891 he passed the bar exam . Eight years later, he entered the Ohio Senate as a Republican and became a probate judge in 1901 . In 1902 he held the post of lieutenant governor of Ohio.
