One Day as a Lion was a crossover band from Los Angeles , California .

history

The band was founded by Zack de la Rocha , the front singer of the crossover band Rage Against the Machine , and the ex-drummer of The Mars Volta , Jon Theodore . The band was named after a photo from 1970 showing a wall in Boyle Heights , a Latino district of Los Angeles , with the words “It's better to live one day as a lion, than a thousand years as a lamb”. It is better to live a day as a lion than to live a thousand years as a lamb ”) shows. An EP was released on July 22, 2008 on the independent label ANTI Records . In 2011 the band was finally disbanded.
