The Neuruhrort Stollenzeche (also called "Neu Ruhrort") was in Oberdahlhausen , a village in the southwest of Bochum not far from the Ruhr .

It was already in operation around 1750, even if an official guess is only documented for 1769, probably because of a change of ownership. After a survey of the mine field in 1788, the mine does not get beyond the tunnel operation.

It was not until 1920 that a ton-long shaft was built , which was abandoned the following year because the mine was closed. The pit field is taken over by the Robert colliery located in Essen-Steele .

The Neuruhrort tunnel (with a mouth hole in the street Am Ruhrort in Oberdahlhausen) was idle for almost 20 years . But in 1940 operations resumed. Due to the war, this renaissance only lasted a year. But then in 1943 the mine was officially re-established as a company. The tonnlägige shaft was further geteuft , 1945 began promoting and amounted at the end of the year 8,000 tons of coal.

Five years later, in 1950, it was 50,000 t with 205 employees. In 1952 the peak was reached with 61,000 t of annual production , achieved by 230 employees. After that, the coal supplies gradually ran out. In 1960, the Neuruhrort colliery was closed for the third time.

A display board in the street Am Ruhrort in Oberdahlhausen and the name of FC Neuruhrort 1951 , which is based in the neighboring village of Munscheid and a now well-known football club, still remind of this small mine in the south-west of Bochum .
