Hinteres Sommerhofental is a nature reserve designated by the Stuttgart Regional Council of November 17, 1997 with the number 1.225.
location
The nature reserve is located in the natural areas Schönbuch and Glemswald and Obere Gäue . It is located in the valley of the Sommerhofenbach in the northeast of the city of Sindelfingen . The protected area is part of the FFH area No. 7220-311 Glemswald and Stuttgarter Bucht and is enclosed on three sides by the landscape protection area No. 1.15.089 Glemswald .
Protection purpose
According to the ordinance, the protection purpose is to preserve the swamp and swamp forests and the floodplain of the near-natural Sommerhofenbach
- as a biotope complex of extensively used meadows, forest, swamp and fringing biotopes,
- as a structurally rich habitat for a large number of partially threatened plant and animal species,
- as a scenic meadow valley,
- as well as promoting the undisturbed development of the Sommerhofenbach.
Flora and fauna
The plant species globe flower and nodule saxifrage occur in the area. Among the amphibian species were detected: mountains , ponds and palmate newt , common frog , common toad and yellow-bellied toad . The butterfly species must mention the great butterfly and the great fox . The sedge meadows provide a habitat for the great gold snail and the endangered moss bladder snail can be found in the ditches and pools .
