Längenbühl is a nature reserve with the number 1.168 designated by ordinance of the Stuttgart Regional Council of October 9, 1990 .
location
The nature reserve is located in the natural areas Schönbuch and Glemswald and Obere Gäue . It lies about 300 meters northeast of Renningen and is surrounded on three sides by conservation area no. 1.15.089 Glemswald . The main feature of the Längenbühl is the reed sandstone quarry and its spoil heaps.
Protection purpose
According to the regulation, the protective purpose is
- the preservation of a former sand reed quarry with varied demolition walls and spoil heaps as well as a diverse flora and fauna, in particular rare types of moss in the area of the stone walls;
- the protection of various stages of succession, the maintenance of which requires special care interventions.
Flora and fauna
The highly endangered rock carnation thrives in the protected area . The yellow-bellied toad and fire salamander live in the wetlands .
