List of nature reserves in the Schwarzwald-Baar district
In the Schwarzwald-Baar district there are 26 nature reserves. The Freiburg regional council is responsible for the designation of nature reserves . According to the protected area statistics of the State Institute for the Environment, Measurements and Nature Conservation Baden-Württemberg (LUBW), 2,085.39 hectares of the district area are under nature protection, that is 2.03 percent.

Bad Dürrheim , Villingen-Schwenningen Moor on the European watershed between the Danube and the Rhine on the Baar via the Letten des Gipskeupers with the Neckar spring. The former high moor has been destroyed by centuries of peat mining. The newly created landscape with the heathered areas alternating with birch bog forest and gray willow bushes is still valuable as a recreational area for the town of Schwenningen today. |
