The Unterhölzer Wald nature reserve is located in the area of the cities of Bad Dürrheim and Donaueschingen in the Black Forest-Baar district and the city of Geisingen in the Tuttlingen district in Baden-Württemberg .
The area extends northwest of the core city of Geisingen. Not far to the east, the Kötach flows and the A 81 runs . The B 33 runs along the southwestern edge of the area, and the Danube flows to the south and west . The 170.9 hectare nature reserve Birken-Mittelmeß extends to the west .
meaning
For Bad Dürrheim, Donaueschingen and Geisingen, a 633.9 hectare area has been designated as a nature reserve under the identification number 3.019 since March 17, 1939. It is a former game park on the Baar , in the area of the Brown Jura with 300 to 400 year old oaks . The Birkenried flat moor in the southwest is endowed with rich flora. In the Unterhölzer Weiher, reeds grow from reeds and cattails . The nature reserve is a breeding area for numerous water birds and a resting place for migratory birds .
