The Laubeck-Rensberg nature reserve is located in the municipality of Schonach in the Black Forest in the Schwarzwald-Baar district in Baden-Württemberg .
The area extends northwest of the core town of Schonach in the Black Forest. The state road L 109 runs to the west and south and the B 33 to the east . The Elz flows to the west .

For Schonach in the Black Forest, an area of 232.9 hectares has been designated as a nature reserve under the identification number 3.224 since May 17, 1996 . It is a "ridge east of the upper Elz Valley, characterized by moors and extensive coniferous forests." It is a "mosaic of different forests, moors, meadows, pastures and other habitats, rich in structures and species."
