Erich Ahrendt (born July 29, 1933 in Altwriezen ; † 2009 ) was a German javelin thrower .
biography
Ahrendt won the bronze medal at the GDR championships in 1959 . At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 , however, he did not manage to qualify for the final in the javelin throw and finished in 16th place. A year later he was GDR champion .
Ahrendt later studied medicine and became a surgeon in Berlin-Pankow .
