The Buchhalde-Oberes Donautal nature reserve is located in the area of the cities of Fridingen an der Donau and Mühlheim an der Donau in the Tuttlingen district in Baden-Württemberg in the Obere Donau nature park .

Characteristics

The area was designated as a nature reserve under the protection area number 3171 by ordinance of the Freiburg Regional Council of December 20, 1989. This ordinance was published in the Law Gazette for Baden-Württemberg on February 16, 1990 and came into force thereafter. The CDDA code is 162615 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

location

The protected area is located east of Mühlheim an der Donau. It covers the entire breakthrough valley of the Danube between Mühlheim and Fridingen over a length of more than three kilometers. The protected landscape area 3.27.060- Danube valley with Bära and Lippachtal partially surrounds the NSG. It belongs entirely to the FFH area No. 7919-311 Großer Heuberg and Danube Valley and also to the bird sanctuary 7820-441- Südwestalb and Upper Danube Valley . It is located in the natural areas 092- Baaralb and Upper Danube Valley and 093- Hohe Schwabenalb within the natural spatial main unit 09- Swabian Alb .

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of the upper Danube valley as a unique geological and landscape historical document of special character and beauty and as a habitat for a multitude of rare, endangered and largely endangered plant species, plant communities and animal species.
