Bridgehampton 500km race in 1963

The 500 km race from Bridgehampton , also Bridgehampton Double 500 (Race One - For FIA International Championship for Grand Touring Cars, Divisions II and III), Bridgehampton , was held on October 14, 1963 and was the 22nd and final championship run of the Sports car world championship this year.

The race

With the long-distance races on the Bridgehampton Race Circuit , the longest World Sportscar Championship season came to an end. Reported were GT racing car, the engines were allowed to have a 3-liter engine even more. Dan Gurney won the race with a lead of 1 ½ minutes on Ken Miles , who had the fastest time in practice. Both competed in the event on a Shelby Cobra .
