Coppa Maifredi 1963

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 13th Coppa Maifredi , also Coppa Maifredi, Circuito del Garda , was a GT race that was held on May 12, 1963 on the Circuito del Garda . At the same time, the race was the sixth round of this year's sports car world championship .

The race

In 1963, the Coppa Maifredi only had 21 starters. This was mainly due to the fact that on the same day, with the 500 km race in Spa-Francorchamps , another race of the sports car world championship was held, where GT vehicles, albeit in higher displacement classes, were also eligible to start. On Lake Garda were, with one exception, only vehicles of the brand Abarth at the start. The only non-Abarth was a private British Marcos Fastback GT . The race was won by the Italians Marsilio Pasotti and Benedetto Guarini in a factory Fiat-Abarth 1000 .
