The 400 km race of Bridgehampton 1962 , also Double 400 (Grand Touring 2000), Bridgehampton , for GT racing cars up to 2 liter displacement took place on September 15, 1962 at the Bridgehampton Race Circuit and was the 13th race of Sports car world championship this year.
The race
The Bridgehampton road circuit became a permanent race track in 1953, where sports car races were held until 1971. In 1962 there were two championship races on the track within two days. The first race was reserved for GT vehicles with a maximum displacement of 2 liters, which competed in two racing classes. The overall standings were won by Bob Holbert in a Porsche 356 B Carrera Abarth GTL . In the class up to 1 liter displacement, Bob Grossman remained victorious in the Fiat-Abarth 1000 .
