The Abarth-Simca 2000 is a sports coupé that was produced as a joint project by Simca and Abarth in Turin , Italy in the 1960s .

Product description

The engine of the Abarth-Simca 2000 is a built-in rear-cm³- 1946 four-cylinder - petrol engine Abarth with 141 kW (192 hp) at 7200 / min. The vehicle weighs 689 kg empty, is 361 cm long, 148 cm wide and 120 cm high. The wheelbase is 209 cm with a front track of 127 cm and a rear track of 130 cm. The maximum speed is 270 km / h. The tank holds 30 liters, and larger tanks with 55, 85 or 110 liters were also available. The filler neck is on the top right corner of the flat sloping rear window. Parts from the Simca 1000 were used for the chassis .

The oval cooling air intake is deep in the bow, there is no front bumper. The two headlights are installed under transparent panels. The front is long and sloping flat. As was customary at the time, the windshield was a little steeper. The design, further developed from the Fiat Abarth 1000 Bialbero and the Monomille, came from Abarth chief engineer Mario Colucci . The “Carrozzeria Abarth” appeared formally as the bodybuilder, in fact Carlo Abarth and Colucci outsourced this work to small, local companies: In the course of 1963, the Carrozzeria Sibona-Basano from Turin took over the complete body production; At the beginning, Abarth still used bodyshells that the Turin company Beccaris had made in stock.
